Med Fairies, Chemo, and Waiting

Good Morning, Friends! (And Apologies for the Silence!)

Cynde had another round of chemo yesterday, and everything went well. Her white blood cell count was a little low, so they gave her another patch to help boost production of those cells.

When her oncologist came in, Cynde casually mentioned that she’d gotten another “Med Fairy.”

“A what?” her doctor asked.

Cynde explained our ongoing conversations about the patch and how we’d affectionately named it the Med Fairy.

Her doctor laughed and said she’d never look at that patch the same way again.

Thank you. Our work here is done. 🙂

Well, not quite.

Cynde will have another scan at the end of November to help determine whether any cancer remains after her surgery and multiple rounds of chemotherapy.

She’ll meet with her medical team on December 3 to review the results and discuss next steps. If another round of chemo is needed, it’s already scheduled for December 4.

So, we wait. Again.

But in the meantime, life moves forward.

There have been football games, gatherings with friends, family dinners, and our ongoing crusade to get as many calories into Cynde as humanly possible.

Skip dessert? Absolutely not.

Thank you, as always, for the continued love, encouragement, prayers, and support. It means more than you know.

I’ll keep you all updated as we learn more.

With love,

Heather
